Choking Beijing

Beijing is an amazing city but full of paradoxes  – the poor air quality is legendary and restricts both your vision and your airways. I am looking forward to going back there sometime but the  air that made me ill needs sorting out fast. How the residents cope on a daily basis is difficult to comprehend – not opening windows and walking down the street in masks are some of the tactics I witnessed.

This article from the New Scientist discusses this serious problem.

Have you been there and what was the air like then?
