Beijing is an amazing city but full of paradoxes – the poor air quality is legendary and restricts both your vision and your airways. I am looking forward to going back there sometime but the air that made me ill needs sorting out fast. How the residents cope on a daily basis is difficult to comprehend – not opening windows and walking down the street in masks are some of the tactics I witnessed.
